A few words on the 80th Anniversary Bourbon. They put some keywords on the bottle that give us a little information about what is in the bottle, but overall, its a bit of a secret. It is both "bottled in bond" and a "straight" bourbon. That means this whiskey was made in one distilling season and by one master distiller at one distillery and aged in a monitored warehouse - this is somewhat significant due to the amount of distilleries and rickhouses a single company might own these days. It also means this whiskey is at least four years old. Given that they don't put an age statement on the bottle, my guess is that that is exactly how old the spirit is (if it was older than that, they would probably say so).
Like all of our other whiskey tastings, Will will have a tasting sheet ready for the rest of the whiskeys available for your reading pleasure if you really want to nerd out.
Or just come and drink some whiskey.
EDIT/ANNOUNCEMENT! One of our distributors got us a few bottles of Willettized Lagunitas Coffee Stout. We'll be serving it with the Willett whiskeys tonight! (must have whiskey tasting ticket for the Lagunitas beer).
