Penderyn Whisky, formerly known as Welsch Whisky in 2000, was the first distillery in Wales in over a century. They are now producing enough whisky that they are able to distribute to the United States, all over Europe, and Australia, and others.

I was fortunate enough to be able to try these whiskies a few weeks ago and they were bold and dramatic. They taste in the Scotch tradition but carry less subtle flavors than you might get from Scotch. Penderyn has also been winning awards for their spirits all over the place.

Specifically, they recently received some huge accolades for their Madiera cask finished whisky which we will be tasting alongside their Legend and Myth.
