SOLD OUT EVENT! CHECK BACK FOR OUT NEXT WINE EVENT!
As an exclusive event to The Coffee Grounds we will provide you samples of each of the bottlings of Barolo for you to enjoy with us as Rolfe Hanson, wine representative for Select Sellars, presents the beautiful Baroli to us.
This is a perfect opportunity to try some fantastic wines while learning more about what makes Barolo like no other place in the wine world.
The Revello family first came to La Morra in 1945
In 1967 the first bottle of “Giovanni Revello & Figli” Barolo was born.
Enzo and Carlo Revello took over their father Giovanni's estate in 1990: their vineyards, once belonging to the local parish, boast parcels in the crus of Giachini, Rocche dell'Annunziata, Conca dell'Annunziata and Gattera from which four single vineyard Baroli are made.
The cellar is modern and equipped with rotary fermenters and vats with temperature control: fermentation and maceration with the skins is short, approximately four days for the Baroli. The wines rest in French oak barriques, except for Barolo Gattera. Viticulture at their estates is sustainable, only sulphur and copper base products, no insecticides (sexual confusion is used against the grape-fruit moth). Grass is left between the rows of vines and every other year it is mowed in autumn and worked into the soil as green manure. The estate also offers a delightful "Agriturismo" you are able to stay at when travelling in the area.
The family philosophy is well suited to the elegant wines of the La Morra commune: "Our approach to vinification aims to produce Barolo which is perfect for long bottle-ageing, but which can also be appreciated and understood when still young."
Wines being sampled will be updated shortly
