Bottled in Bond Whiskey Tasting

Maybe you’ve seen “Bottled in Bond” on bourbon, rye, or corn whiskey bottles and haven’t been real sure what it means. Or maybe you’re one of those whiskey people who knows Bottled in Bond means there is a certain level of quality.

Bourbon is pretty heavily regulated and must meet certain difficult standards to be called bourbon. Then to call it “straight” you have to meet more standards. Finally, to call is Bottled in Bond (BIB) you have to meet some of the strictest standards in the whiskey world. But that level of monitoring on the whiskey ensures that what you are getting in the bottle is of a certain quality.

There are some really inexpensive BIB whiskeys out there that are very satisfying to drink. And they make some great cocktails because of their higher proof (BIB whiskeys must be bottled at 50% alcohol).

Here are the whiskies we will be tasting through:

Old Tub Bottled in Bond (Jim Beam Distillery)

Old Grandad Bottled in Bond (Jim Beam Distillery)

Henry McKenna 10yr Bottled in Bond Single Barrel (Heaven Hill Product)

Evan William’s Bottled in Bond (Heaven Hill Product)

Each ticket will also get 2 soft pretzels with beer cheese to eat with their whiskey. Whiskey purchases will be 15% off for event attendees.

We will be providing proper spacing for this event. Each attendee will be provided with a glencairn for tasting and a representative from our liquor company or from K Point/The Coffee Grounds will come to your table to pour your whiskey.
